Canadian singer-songwriter Cheryl Gaudet is one of those unique artists who balances integrity and surprise without apology. South Shore Moon, Cheryl's latest musical offering is a tasty blend of "rhythm and roots". Reflecting early influences by The Beatles, Neil Young, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitte, the songs are organic and carefully crafted with a confident, stripped-down sound that is fresh yet comfortingly familiar. On South Shore Moon, co-written with her husband, John Rogers, Cheryl delivers clever lyrics with warm, dynamic vocals and her signature gutsy rhythm acoustic guitar style. She's complimented by Brian Bourne's Chapman Stick prowess and the compelling grooves of legendary east coast drummer, Tom Roach. Juno Award-winning producer/engineer Terry Pulliam co-produced South Shore Moon with Cheryl at Sound Market Recording Studio in Halifax.

Cheryl has been enjoying air play since her first broadcast recording with CBC radio in 1985. As a young folkie performing in coffeehouses and festivals in Nova Scotia, it was obvious that music would play a major role in her life. During her decade-long stay in Toronto she was a fixture on the thriving performing circuit there, regularly featured at popular venues such as Free Times Café, C'est What? and the Rivoli. Her drive to foster a musical community inspired her to create and host a weekly radio show on CIUT featuring singer-songwriters performing live in the studio. In 1989, determined to establish an entirely accessible outdoor music event, she founded The Eaglewood Earth Festival (now known as The Eaglewood Folk Festival), and spent four years laying the foundation for what has become one of Canada's premier songwriters festivals. She returned to Nova Scotia and in 2000 her first independent release, Green On Blue, put her back in the limelight on the East Coast. She followed it up with national radio play, an ECMA showcase, features on numerous compilation CDs, opening spots for Susan Aglukark and Sarah Harmer, songwriters circles with Valdy, Ian Thomas, Rose Vaughan and Laura Smith, features on Atlantic Airwaves and appearances at such notable events as Stanfest, Festival by the Sea and Eaglewood. She also co-wrote and performed songs on the CBC national radio drama series, "Now You See Her", written by Ed Thomason.

Cheryl is a versatile and passionate performer who has leant her talent to numerous social causes, most predominantly world peace. In the aftermath of 911, her songs, People of the World and Feed the People, recorded by the B.E.A.D Children's Choir in Halifax, were distributed to elementary schools throughout New York City. Cheryl's highest honor was being selected by Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Muriel Duckworth as one of her five most inspirational women in the Nova Scotia Book of Everything.
